AWS PoC funding

AWS PoC funding: prove it works before you move

Not sure AWS will run your workload better or cheaper? Test it first. AWS funds proofs of concept for new workloads through its Partners. We scope the test, define what success means, apply for the funding and build it.

What's included

A real test, not a demo

Success criteria first

Performance, cost and operational targets agreed before anything is built, so the result is a clear yes or no.

Production-like test

Your workload on AWS with realistic data volumes and load, not a reference architecture from a slide.

Cost model from real usage

What it would cost to run in production, measured from the PoC itself and including commitments.

Funding application

Scope, budget and expected spend prepared and submitted by Averium as your AWS Partner.

Results report

Measured results against the criteria and a go or no-go recommendation you can take to leadership.

Path to migration

If the answer is yes, the PoC becomes the first step of a migration plan and, where eligible, a MAP application.

Funding

AWS covers part or all of the test

PoC funding is for new workloads on AWS and is requested through a Partner.

AWS programs

  • AWS PoC funding

Credits or funding for the proof of concept, sized by AWS from the workload's expected annual AWS spend.

Averium

Where the work lowers your AWS bill, part of Averium's fee is recovered from those savings instead of being invoiced upfront. The split is fixed in the statement of work before anything starts.

Only an AWS Partner can request AWS funding. We prepare and submit the application; AWS makes the final award. How AWS funding works

PoC funding can't be combined with MAP for the same workload, and is normally deducted from later migration funding. For large migrations, AWS usually steers pilots into MAP's mobilize phase instead. We'll tell you which route pays more.

How it works

From first call to done

  1. 1

    Scope

Workload, success criteria and expected AWS spend defined.

  2. 2

    Apply

Funding request prepared and submitted to AWS.

  3. 3

    Build & measure

Test environment built and run against the criteria.

  4. 4

    Decide

Results report, cost model and next steps.

Why Averium

AWS Partner. Certified engineers. Paid from results.

The team that builds it also runs the FinOps platform that keeps it cost-efficient afterwards.

  • Success criteria agreed up front, so the outcome is objective
  • We apply for the funding as your AWS Partner
  • A cost model from real measurements, not a pricing calculator
  • No obligation to migrate if the test fails
FAQ

Common questions

How much of the PoC does AWS cover?+

AWS sets the amount per request, based on the workload's expected annual AWS spend and the scope of the test. We'll give you a realistic picture before you commit any time to it.

Can we use PoC funding and MAP together?+

Not for the same workload. A PoC can come first, but its funding is normally deducted from later MAP funding, and for large migrations AWS often prefers the pilot to run inside MAP. We'll work out which route gives you more.

What if the PoC fails?+

You get a documented result against the criteria you set, and no obligation to migrate. Knowing early is the point of the exercise.

Who owns what's built?+

You do. The PoC runs in your AWS account and everything is delivered as code.
